Festival Question: Why do you think God the Father has given his Son power over everything? (John 3:31-36)
PRESS RELEASE
Seekonk, Mass., May 13, 2010 – Earlier this week, Brianna Chace, 11, looked at video on the Kids Talk About God website of the sixth winner of the 2010 Children’s International Arts Festival. She jokingly said to her mother, “And the seventh winner is Brianna Chace!”
This morning her fantasy became a reality when she received a phone call from Idaho dude ranch owner Janice Schoonover: “You and your family have won a week-long vacation at the Western Pleasure Guest Ranch in Sandpoint, Idaho.”
When asked if she had a favorite kind of horse, Chace said, “I like them all.” Schoonover told Chace she would be riding a buckskin horse named Dolly, which is shown on the ranch website at www.westernpleasureranch.com
This fourth-generation cattle ranch, located in Idaho’s scenic panhandle, sits on 1100 acres of pastures with tall pines and breathtaking views of the Selkirk and Cabinet mountain ranges. In addition to dining on hearty ranch cuisine served in Western Pleasure’s log lodge, the Chaces will enjoy a lunch ride to Grouse Creek Falls, a dinner cruise on Lake Pend Oreille and a Dutch oven cookout with western music around a campfire. Also, they’ll enjoy wagon rides drawn by huge draft horses.
Chace drew a picture in response to the question, “Why do you think God the Father has given his son power over everything?” Her drawing will appear in the Kids Color Me Bible Gospel of John at www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org. Winners from the past two years have already been published in the first 12 chapters of the free, online, storybook Bible.
“Brianna’s artwork is exceptional,” said Carey Kinsolving, author, syndicated columnist and founder of the Children’s International Arts Festival. “It’s going to look great in the Kids Color Me Bible Gospel of John.” Chace’s winning artwork can be seen at www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org/brianna.
Chace’s written answer to the question was as follows: “The Bible says those who are from heaven are above all, and God loves his son so he has placed everything in his hands.”
The purpose of the Children’s International Arts Festival is to foster Bible literacy. “Some children become highly motivated to squeeze every ounce of meaning from a Bible text when there is a dude ranch vacation looming just over the horizon,” said Kinsolving. All the information about the online festival can be found at www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org. Chace is the last of seven 2010 dude ranch vacation winners that has been announced this year.
The Children’s International Arts Festival is sponsored by KidsTalkAboutGod.org and participating dude ranches. Festival organizer Carey Kinsolving writes a weekly Kids Talk About God column, distributed through Creators Syndicate, and has produced a series of popular TV spots for an ABC affiliate that can be seen on the Kids Talk About God website.
